Sneak Peek: Nadiah L.

Sorry for the lack of updates once again, been a busy bee. I'm hoping to launch my handmade accessory line, known as Nadiah L. (I know, I know no creativity but I like my name lol) and this was the shoot I did. My friend modeled them beautifully I must say. :)

This collection will be all about tassels and feathers, who doesn't love them right!

I started this about two weeks ago when I saw a really really nice feather necklace at Topshop that I really wanted but by the time I went back, it was sold out! So anyway, I thought hey, might as well make my own and I could alter and customize it in any way I wanted. So I began making accessories at night, I'm an insomniac so doing this was a great way to kill time productively!

I have no training whatsoever lol and I'm a "why make it when you can buy it" kinda girl so you can imagine my excitement when I completed my very first necklace hahaha!

Do keep a look out for more.

Singapore Town

(Leopard printed romper from Hula & Co/ Military Jacket from a market in Indonesia/ DIY Leather tassel necklace/ Hellraiser knockoffs and skull bag from Far East Plaza)

Today I took a trip around Singapore Town... I went shopping at Chinatown as I needed to buy more stuff for my jewelry making which I'm launching soon, so please keep a look out for it! Walking through the streets in Chinatown really made me felt like a tourist haha... Aside from the necessary items, I picked up a cheongsam top and another kimono (As you can see from the very last picture.) I then rushed down to Arab Street with Mardhiah to pick up more stuff needed for my jewelry such as chain and charms. Along our stroll to Little India, we dropped by Thieves Market where I got myself two vintage bags at a price of $13!!! It's so cheap its almost daylight robbery hahah but really the bags are mint and in good condition. Later that night I met up with another friend and bought those indian slippers from Little India. :)

So my outfit today was a little more tomboy than girly which is how I truly am anyway. My friends would tell you I'm no girly girl, I'm rough and loud. It's been awhile since I dressed up this way and I really like it, I should dress up like this more often no?

My military jacket really needed to see the sunlight.

In Riding A Horse, We Borrow Freedom

(Tank top from F21/ Embroidered outerwear from Chinatown/ High waisted jeans from Bugis Street/ Boots from J Shoes)

Went out on a day trip to Amigos Horse Riding at Pasir Gudang to do some horseback riding. I'm sure every reader here knows by now I'm crazy about horses so I enjoyed every second of it. Mos, the guy who owns the place is really nice and hospitable. If you wanna try horseback riding and not pay a bomb for it, this is the place to go. Luqman and I went for the 45min to 1hour jungle trail which costs only 100RM. =)

So anyway when it comes to horse riding, practicality and comfort is key so no shorts, skirts nor jeans. Well mine are slightly stretchy and not of a true denim nature, so it was fine when I was riding. I think leggings are ok too. Mos said Luqman's jeans weren't suitable. I think my boots were a bit too big cause one of them got stuck in the stirrup while I was dismounting. Tsk.

Can't wait to go back there next week!! =)

A Day In China Town

(Netted top from Cosmic/ Red tube bra from Pierre Cardin/ Faux leather skirt from Blogshoppers/ DIY Feather necklace/ Faux leather satchel from Charles & Keith/ Snake print platforms from Bugis Street)

I love Chinatown. It's crowded streets are more nostalgic than clinical (you know, like Orchard Road). I was there with Shikin to shop for my DIY necessities... I've been going crazy over certain projects, currently working on a necklace with so many feathers that I feel like stabbing myself with one.

We trekked the streets of Chinatown and found so many awesome things to buy and most of them cost only $10!  Shikin and I were saying, with Chinatown, who needs Topshop! I bought a couple of aaaamazing outerwear that I just can't wait to wear!!! I can't wait to go back to Chinatown too.

Anyway I must have bought this top 3 years ago in the "discount" bin and I'm only wearing it now ahahah. I had no idea what to wear it with... and yeah, this is pretty much as sleazy as I would get for now. =P

Teen Vogue Best Dressed Reader Of The Day

Hahaha, I was apparently the best dressed reader of the day for the 8th of February but I never knew till today!! And this is embarrassing but I googled myself to see if my twitter or if this blog appeared and I came across this! So yeah, it was a rather pleasant surprise. :)

Sorry for the lack of updates, been too busy at work.

Messy And I Know It

(Tribal maxi from Hurs/ Headband worn as a bracelet from Diva/ Rayban shades/ Slippers from Ripcurl/ Leather sling bag from a flea market/ DIY Feather hairpiece )

Today I learned an important lesson, that I'm messy and sometimes probably am too overenthusiastic. Take for example, my outfit today had a lot going on with the tribal prints. On hindsight, I should have carried a simpler bag, oh well, I left it in the car anyway.

Among all the maxis that I own, this has to be the freakiest one. I thought it was really ugly at first but somehow it just grew on me hahah. Unlike other maxis, this one has to be tied at the back so in a way, I will never be too fat for it even if I were to be 9 months pregnant!

This feather hairpiece is something I made the night before and was really excited to wear it out this afternoon! Throughout the day, I was so afraid someone would just yank it out for a joke. What do you think?

Black And Yellow

(Button down shirt from Bugis Street/ Faux leather shorts from Posh/ Vintage Carlo Rino Bag from CGV/ DIY Feather necklace/ Ring from Topshop)

Hahaha, Wiz Khalifa's Black And Yellow is playing in the background this very second that I'm updating this blog.

No photos of my shoes today but I was wearing the Aldo gladiators that I love all too much. It goes with everything! Teehee and I just realized my Topshop ring looks like I'm perpetually giving someone the finger. Well... I guess it suits my sudden disgust for society lately?

Oh oh, this necklace is my very first DIY item I've probably attempted and actually succeeded. It's really simple yet chic. Since I'm going through a rather undesirable insomniac phase, I thought I would spend the time making my own necklaces and earrings. It's something I've always had an interest in but never really got the time nor inspiration to do it.

As anyone can tell, I'm a sucker for feathers. =)
